House of Zwide actor Motlatsi Mafatshe revealed in an interview on King David Podcast that late actress Busi Lurayi called him a week before she died.

HIS LAST CONVERSATION WITH BUSI LURAYI
Motlatsi Mafatshe’s late How To Ruin Christmas co-star Busi Lurayi passed away nearly a year agio, on Sunday, 10 July 2022 at her residence at the age of 36.
Mafatshe tells David in the interview that Lurayi called him a week before she passed away and it was the shortest call as when they usually talk for three hours: “That was the shortest call and it took 30 minutes.”
“You know when these things happen, you are like was ‘she saying bye’? I’m lucky. It’s like I want to tell everyone that she called me. You want to hold onto something. Maybe it’s how we deal with it,” he adds.
The actor adds that the City Ses’La star was incredible, as she used to fight for everyone and used to get into trouble for it and sometimes, she’d go overboard: “She was something else, so honest and giving.”

MOTLATSI MAFATSHE ON HIS RELATIONSHIP WITH MOM
The former Isidingo actor Motlatsi Mafatshe also discussed black tax, his divorce, his acting career and his relationship with his mother in the latest King David Podcast.
“My mom did an amazing job. I give her so much love. My mom used to give me R100 every month, when I was at school, Even today. There’s a R100 going into my account every month.”
Mafatshe adds that his mother hasn’t cancelled the stop order even after he started working, had children and got married.
“My sister’s also get R100’s. I am sure they’ve saved theirs. I was like. I love this. This is amazing, so I’ll always be thankful for that. Because she’s been doing it since forever. I also have to give her money every month. She gives R100, I give her a lot more.”
When radio personality and podcaster David Mashabela asks the actor Motlatsi Mafatshe if he feels the need to give his mother money, he replies: “I have to. It helps me to work harder for the rest of my life”.
“We shouldn’t call it black tax. Black tax is narcissist behaviour. They’re teaching you to be selfish. It’s your family.”
