Lionel Richie was very pleased and proud as a father on his daughter’s wedding day.
On Saturday, Lionel Richie, the 73-year-old singer of the hit song All Night Long, walked his daughter Sofia Richie, who is 24 years old, down the aisle during her wedding ceremony to music executive Elliot Grainge at the Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc in Antibes in France.
On Instagram, Lionel Richie wrote a caption for his post about his daughter’s wedding, expressing how proud he is of Sofia and the woman she has become.
He called her his ‘little girl’ and expressed his love for her, but also acknowledged that she is all grown up and starting a new journey with the love of her life, Elliot.
Lionel Richie has three children, including his youngest daughter Sofia. He also has a son named Miles Brockman who is 28 years old, and a daughter Nicole who is 41 years old.
Sofia Richie is a model and a social media personality and is married to Elliot Grainge, who is the founder and CEO of independent record label 10K Projects.
The couple had known each other for several years before they became romantically involved. Lionel Richie had a close friendship and worked together with Elliot Grainge’s father, Sir Lucian Grainge, on several occasions.
On her wedding day, she wore earrings that were specially made by her sister Nicole Richie during the wedding weekend.

Lionel Richie was photographed with twin brothers Joel and Benjamin Madden during the wedding celebrations. Joel is married to Nicole Richie, and Benjamin is married to Cameron Diaz. The three men wore matching black-tie attire in the photo, which Joel shared on Instagram.
In the comments, Richie wrote, “We look sharp!! 🖤 Love you both”.
Paris Hilton, who was one of the guests, added, “What a wedding! love you guys”.
Lionel Richie opens up about his daughter’s wedding
During an interview with Melvin Robert from Extra, the 73-year-old singer opened up about his thoughts and feelings about his daughter’s wedding.
“Baby Girl got married and when I say that… it’s a great feeling, I must say, I’ve known Elliot since he was 9 years old so I know the groom really well.
“There’s a thing down south we always say: ‘Who’s your people?’ Well, I know his people, so it really is a real wonder to see them in love and just as happy as I’ve ever seen my little girl and Elliot,” said Richie.
In addition, the singer of the song Three Times a Lady expressed that the wedding was a moment where he was acknowledging that his daughter was starting a new chapter in her life, but he was also gaining a son-in-law and a new member of his family.
“It was a moment where, yes, I was letting her go, but I was also gaining a family. The family is getting huge right about now, but we are happy,” further elaborated Lionel.
