Pics! House Of Zwide Actress Shalate Sekhabi Graduates. It’s graduation season, and the actress popularly know as Shoki on the telenovela recently to took to her socials to announce that she got capped.
Taking to her Instagram, the 23 year old shared that she graduated from the prestigious University of the Witswatersrand with a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree majoring in Film and Television. She further expressed gratitude to God and how proud she was of herself to have obtained her degree.
“Wits Edge CONQUERED. God got me here, all the glory belongs to Him. His grace and mercy is unfailing 6) The person I am today is not the person I was when I first stepped through these University gates. I am so proud of the woman standing here today, boy is she strong and capable of anything she puts her mind to,” she wrote.
Shalate then went on to express that she was her own idol who is going to use her past experience as motivation to persevere. All stumbling blocks that took a toll on her will serve as a push factor to not give up.
“She inspires me so much, whenever I am low, I will look back on this day, on this journey and I will pick myself up again the same way she had to, over and over again. Oh Gosh, there is so much I could say about the challenges I’ve faced throughout the years & even days leading to this point. It’s been a mentally, physically and spiritually taxing journey and there were many times where I really thought I wasn’t gonna make it here,” the graduate wrote.
In 2022 she shared how being in the workforce and a student had been going for her saying, “The past year has been a roller coaster. It’s been interesting, and fun and there’s been a lot of growth as an actress and just as a person in the industry. It’s been hectic. But it’s been really good, a dream come true.”
Shalate Sekhabi portrayed the character of Millicent in season 3 of “The River.” She made her Etv debut in 2021 as Shoki, a supporting actress on ‘House Of Zwide’. Her graduation is proof that she has actively been putting in the work to hone her acting skills.
