Gqeberha: The Empire viewers have taken to social media to share express their dissatisfaction with actress Akhenime Mfenyane, who plays Thulani’s love interest and Luzuko’s wife Anathi.

FANS UNIMPRESSED WITH AKHENIME MFENYANE’S ACTING
Viewers of the Mzansi Magic telenovela Gqeberha: The Empire had high hopes for the actress Akhenime Mfenyane, who joined the show as as Chef Anathi and Luzuko’s youngest wife.
A fan from the show @tshepisotkzee compared Mfenyane to Larona Moagi, who played Tumi Mokoena from The River: “Watching Akhenime Mfenyana as Anathi on #GqeberhaTheEmpire is as cringeworthy as when we watched Larona Moagi as Tumi on The River.“
Another viewer @DakaloConfiden1 revealed that Mfenyane might soon drain her co-star Tembinkosi Ngcukana, who plays her baby daddy and stepson Thulani.
“Very soon, the lady playing as Anathi will drain Thulani. Haibo, he’s really trying to bring life to their scenes but Anathi is not giving any emotions. Just one facial expression since the show started (Frowning face).”
The actress is former The Queen and Generations actress Zendande Mfenyane’s sister, who’s been hailed as one of Mzansi’s most-talented actors.
