After cheating on his baby mama in 2020, Katlego Maboe lost his employment and sponsorship arrangements, and his career was over.

When a video of the presenter confessing to cheating and giving his girlfriend an STI first began circulating online, tweeps were convinced the whole thing was fake.

After being fired from hosting Expresso Katlego due to the infidelity scandal, the TV host is gradually working his way back to the top.
The media celebrity returned to Expresso in August 2022 and, after rising once more, has also presented Tropika Island Of Treasure. Kat is also reviving his singing career.

Katlego opened up about having suicidal thoughts
On his comeback to the “Expresso Morning Show,” Katlego Maboe recounted his motivational story of conquering his “darkest thoughts” and how he overcame difficulties.
Co-presenter Graeme Richards and Katlego Maboe had an emotional conversation about his experience.
Kat also considered the ways in which his two years of “isolation” had “transformed” him.
In the midst of his “storm,” which included a legal dispute, accusations of gender-based abuse, and even losing his job and source of income, Katlego Maboe admitted that he had considered suicide.
These were his words:
“There was a moment when I thought the darkest thoughts. I thought wouldn’t it be better if it was just done? Just quickly. Now. Done. My family wouldn’t have to worry about having to call me every day and deal with me”.

In the end, he was able to pick up the pieces and put them back together thanks to his son Phoenix and the love and support of his family, friends, and fans.
New gig: ‘Deal or no Deal’
As he is rising from the ashes, in March 2023, the exciting news that Katlego Maboe will host South Africa’s version of the popular international game show Deal or No Deal was announced.
After sharing the news, Katlego’s timeline was inundated with congratulations from friends and followers.
On the game show Deal or No Deal, players must choose one of 20 sealed boxes containing cash ranging from R1 to R250,000.
The “banker” of the programme offers the participant money in return for their box as the game progresses and the cash values of the boxes are revealed.
As Katlego asks the competitor to choose whether to accept the banker’s offer in each round, the tension between the participants and the audience is high.
Lala Tuku, head of local programming, said the SABC was delighted to have Katlego host the programme.

Kat to co-host the Metro FM Music Awards 2023 alongside Lerato Kganyago
The hosts of the Metro FM Music Awards 2023 have been revealed as television personalities Lerato “LKG” Kganyago and Katlego Maboe, both of whom have won South African Film and Television Awards (Safta).
On May 6, 2023, the awards presentation will take place at Mbombela Stadium in Mpumalanga.
Kganyago and Maboe were picked to present the awards because of their skills, the commercial radio station publicly announced.
Clearly, in his books, Katlego Maboe is a rising star. When his back was against the wall and when the storms came into his life, he still got up.
